Barbara Ann Scott (born May 9, 1928 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) is a world and Olympic champion figure skater.
Scott began skating at a very young age and was only eleven years old when she won her first Canadian national junior title.
Scott turned professional, skating with the Hollywood Ice Revue in Chicago, Illinois where she met publicist Tom King whom she married in 1955.

Barbara Ann Scott, a native of Ottawa and the 1948 Olympic Champion in ladies figure skating, was honoured by the City of Ottawa at a special ceremony at Ottawa City Hall on May 14.
Scott, who returned to her hometown to participate in the festivities surrounding the 100th anniversary of her former training base, the Minto Skating Club, as well as the opening ceremonies of the 2004 Canadian Tulip Festival, was honoured by the recognition.
Scott was awarded the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada’s top athlete of the year in 1945, 1947 and 1948, and she was inducted into Canada’s Olympic Hall of Fame in 1948, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1955 and the Skate Canada Hall of Fame in 1991.

In the forward Scott talks about the first time he met Kristi--it was 81 in San Diego when he won his first Nationals --Kristi was nine and gave him a flower and he made a big deal about it and embarrassed her.
On June 4, Scott was honored by the Ice Theatre of New York at a benefit for the Rehearsal Fund of the Ice theatre of new York.
Apparently Scott delivered a great speech, got very teary eyed and said how lucky he was to hear all this stuff while he was alive since most people don't get to hear that sort of thing in their life-time--he also gave a tribute to the Ice Theatre and received two standing Os from the audience.

SCOTT, Blanche Stuart (1886-1970) First American woman-pilot - Blanche Stuart Scott was the first American woman to take a solo hop into the air, although her flight is not regarded as official.
