Barbosa Its located no more than 30 minutes north of Medellin and is very nice and safe little town in the country-side.
As Vladimiro said, Barbosa Antioquia is located half an hour from Medellín, and Barbosa Santander is between Bucaramanga and Tunja.
Barbosa is a small village where I find myself comfortable.

COLOMBIA: COMMUNITIES FIGHT TOLLS Residents of the adjoining municipalities of Copacabana, Barbosa and Girardota in the Valle del Aburra region of Colombia's Antioquia department began an open-ended civic strike on May 18 to protest the imposition of new tolls as part of an expansion plan for a highway passing through the region.
The strike was suspended late on May 28 after the senators who represent Antioquia in the national legislature agreed to review a proposal to cancel the tolls and to talk with the president about setting up a dialogue on the issue.
A day earlier, Cartagena mayor Alberto Barbosa had issued an order expanding a restricted "security zone" around the convention center and barring the peaceful march from entering the "Old City," the historic district where the talks were taking place.

On September 30, Jaime Alberto Madero Muñiz, a popular newspaper vendor in Santa Marta, the capital of Magdalena, was shot three times and killed for selling copies of the local newspaper El Informador that reported on the capture of six known members of paramilitary forces who operated in the region.

Fourth Brigade Military units killed in combat five terrorists, two from the Farc and three from the Eln, also during the operation two members of the Farc voluntarily surrendered to the troops.
The first confrontation occurred in the place known as Las Flores, San Carlos municipality (Antioquia), between troops from the Energy & Ways Special Plan No. 4 Battalion and the Farc ninth squad, where two terrorists died in combat and it was confiscated an Ak-47 rifle, a nine millimeters handgun and a campaign backpack.
The second terrorist died during the combats with soldiers from the General Pedro Nel Ospina Engineers Battalion and subversives from the Eln, in the sector known as la Linea, Barbosa municipality.
