Bargello is a type of needlepoint embroidery which consists of upright flat stitches of different lengths.
The name originates from a series of chairs found in the Bargello palace in Florence which had a flame stitch pattern.

It is within walking distance of all of the major attractions in Florence and Gabriella, the host, is fluent in English, which is VERY helpful.
We were only at Il Bargello 2 nights but what we were able to do in those 2 days was pretty exceptional and could not have been done without the help of Gabriella.
