 Barkway First School - News
At Barley, the prizes were given to children who were nominated by their classmates whilst at Barkway the teachers and managers decided that the awards should be made for good attendance.
She was to become one of the stalwarts of the School and took a considerable interest in the well-being of the children, particularly those who attended the Chapel.
She was the daughter of the new Barkway policeman and lived at 152 High Street.

One of a pair of Sandhill Cranes that spent the summer of 2001 in the Barkway area.
This photo was taken September 23, 2001 in a field where they foraged quite often opposite Cooper's farm at 1586 Barkway Rd. They were also seen frequently at Barkway Lake and Hopkin's farm on Gartersnake Rd off Merkley Rd east of Barkway.
Two cranes returned to barkway in April 2002, probably the same pair, and are being seen in the same locations.

It would have been ghoulish to make a journey to see someone else's building blown up, but I actually know this place.
