Barnsdale, or Barnsdale Forest, is a relatively small area of Yorkshire, England which has a rich history and the region is steeped in folklore.
Barnsdale lies in the immediate vicinity north and north-west of Doncaster, and which was formerly forested and a place of royal hunts, and also renowned as a haunt of the outlaw Robin Hood in early medieval ballads.
Barnsdale Bar is the site of the junction of the A1 (the historic Great North Road), the A639, and Wrangbrook Lane, Woodfield Road and Long Lane (junction 38 of the A1).

Barnsdale limbs are the ones on the Qunatum, Avenger, Mach 10, Nitro, any of the "skinny" ones.
As I recall, I believe the Barnsdale limbs are a laminated glass/carbon composite, versus the PSE Magnaglass limb which is an all glass limb.
Barnsdale's are rated to 210,000 psi., while Gordon's are rated from 130,000 to 170,000 depending on the glass used in the limb.

It saddenedd me to see PSE discontinue using Barnsdale Limbs on their bows, but PSE had their reasons; so we have to respect that.
The Mach11 came equipped with barnsdale limbs until the 2003 model.
I should note that barnsdale limbs made for Alan Kauthold (brother of the guy who owns Lancaster) and "Full Adjust Archery Products" for tournament crossbows are pretty much the last word in that sport.
