Barnsley Central MP Eric Illsley is conducting a survey of his constituents to see how they are affected by bad behaviour.
Eric Illsley, Labour MP for Barnsley Central, a member of the Commons foreign affairs committee, called yesterday for an inquiry into why Parliament and the public were not told that the intelligence had been discredited.
It is apparent from the various press releases that Eric has a passionate belief in the future of Barnsley, and it would be nice if he were to use blogging as a means to convey his vision to his constituents.

Member for Barnsley, Central acknowledged that the whole issue of future funding touches not just on South Yorkshire, but on all other PTEs in England and Scotland which support railway passenger services in their areas.
Member for Barnsley, Central was concerned that the funding might be lost in the myriad other elements of revenue support grant.

Staincross is a village in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley (part of South Yorkshire, England), on the border with West Yorkshire.
It is part of the Barnsley Central borough constituency.
It is located at approximately 53° 35' 30" North, 1° 30' West, and at an elevation of around 125 metres above sea level.

Barnsley The Commission propose that the two whole constituencies allocated to the Borough of Barnsley (Barnsley Central BC and Barnsley East BC) should have eight wards each and electorates of 64,117 and 65,237 respectively.
With the inclusion of the East Ecclesfield, Stocksbridge and Upper Don, and West Ecclesfield wards in the cross-borough boundary constituency of Penistone and Stocksbridge CC, it is possible to allocate the remaining twenty-five wards equally between the five whole constituencies allocated to the City.
The existing constituencies in Doncaster (and one partly in Barnsley) have electorates ranging from 63,095 in Doncaster North CC to 67,754 in Doncaster Central BC, producing an electoral disparity of 4,659.

Barnsley is in the centre of the UK, just off the M1 motorway, between Sheffield and Leeds, which is great because if you ever tire of life in Barnsley, then you can hop on a train and hot-foot it to the more kicking places in Yorkshire.
Barnsley is very student-orientated, with many pubs doing student specials on various nights of the week and nightclubs offering cheap entry at weekends.
Barnsley is only a short bus or train ride from Sheffield and Leeds which host a number of fantastic nightclubs including The Leadmill, Pulse, The Roxy, Zone Niche and the infamous Club Barcelona.

Eric Illsley, MP for Barnsley Central, will be campaigning around his constituency this winter to encourage people to claim Labour’s new tax credits and get what they are entitled to.
Mr Meacher’s response was that the regulations apply the requirements of the 1996 directive on integrated pollution prevention and control, that these cover potential pollution risks to air, water and land and that the criteria for the application of the requirements are based on the precise nature of the activity.

Shambolic defending handed Barnsley an early lead, and Keystone Cop style panicking ensured Town were overrun every time the Reds got the ball in our half.
With three central defenders lying very, very deep, it was vital that Town's forwards worked hard to deny them time and space, and also vital that our wide players attacked positively the space left open by Barnsley's attack minded full-backs.
Work rate and effort were needed from the forwards to trouble Barnsley's 3 central defenders, but "work rate", "effort", "running" and "combativeness" and sadly no longer words we can associate with Ronnie Jepson.

Barnsley MPs Eric Illsley, Jeff Ennis and Michael Clapham teamed up with Richard Nutter from the Barnsley Development Agency to lobby government ministers to convince the to award the contract to Mercedes.
From a local perspective, a successful bid would be a major shot in the arm to an area still trying to recover from the privations of the miners strike 20 years ago, which decimated employment.
Next year the group is planning a delegation to Donetsk in the Ukraine to strengthen cultural and economic ties with the area.

The answer to the first question is a resounding no. We have built prior attainment into the threshold requirements as an absolutely key issue, so that the point at which a teacher inherits a child will be taken into account in assessing progress.

TWENTY-SIX new personal computers, with free Internet access, will be installed at Barnsley Central Library this month as the Lottery-funded People's Network is unveiled throughout the borough's libraries.
Barnsley Library Service has been awarded £409,000 by the New Opportunities Fund to set up the project which will connect all UK public libraries to the Internet and provide trained staff to offer support.
The new PCs will be available in the Central Library in Shambles Street during the week of Monday, 16 December.

The Radio Authority's closing date for receipt of applications for a new Independent Local Radio (ILR) licence to serve the town of Barnsley, in South Yorkshire, and as much of the metropolitan borough as proves technically feasible, was today (28 May).

National 2083 which was in store is at YTC Central Works (Barnsley) for attention.
259 is due to go to Barnsley for removal of engine and gearbox before the body comes back to Hudds as the cannibalisation bus, taking the place of 237, which is due to make the journey to the scrap yard either Friday 5th or Mon 8th.
