Vadodara or Baroda, formerly the capital city of Gaekwar State, is situated on the banks of Vishwamitri, a river whose name derived from the great saint Rishi Vishvamitra.
Except for a short period, Baroda continued to be in the reign of the Gaekwars from 1734 to 1948.
Baroda was merged into to Bombay State shortly after independence, which was divided into the states of Gujarat and Maharastra in 1960, with Baroda part of Gujarat.

As of the 2000 census, the township population was 2,880.
In the township the population was spread out with 26.5% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.0% who were 65 years of age or older.

In the 1863 Atlas of Michigan, listed as "A fractional township and small post village of Berrien county, on the St. Joseph river, between South Bend, Ind., and Niles, Mich. The township borders on the State of Indiana, and is distant 190 miles south-west from Detroit.
The township was organized in 1856, and is about five miles square; the soil is generally a clay loam, very rich, and well suited to grass and grain with gently rolling surface--the south-east portion hilly.
Pear, apple, and quince trees flourish and bear heavy crops of fruit, which is attributed to the proximity of lake Michigan and the consequent mildness of the climate, preventing the early spring frosts from injuring the trees.

Lake Charter Township is a charter township in Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
Lake Michigan is to the west, Lincoln Township to the north, Baroda Township to the east, Weesaw Township to the south, and Chikaming Township to the southwest.
In the township the population was spread out with 24.8% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who were 65 years of age or older.

He is also a board member of the Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council, Berrien County 4-H Foundation, Berrien County Farm Bureau, and past president, secretary and charter member of the Baroda Lions Club.
