John Tuchet, 8th and last Earl of Castlehaven; 18th Baron Audley; 6th and last Baron Audley of Hely (2 August 1724- 22 April 1777) was the son of James Tuchet, 6th Earl of Castlehaven and his wife née Elizabeth Arundell.
He succeeded his brother as Earl of Castlehaven, Baron Audley, and Baron Audley of Hely on 6 May 1769.
He died unmarried, at which time the Earldom of Castlehaven and the Barony of Audley of Hely became extinct.

He was created Baron Audley of Hely with remainder "to his heirs forever" on 3 June 1633, with place and precedency of George, his grandfather, formerly Baron Audley of Hely.
James Tuchet, 3rd Earl of Castlehaven, 13th Baron Audley, 1st Baron Audley of Hely (about 1617 -11 October 1684) was the son of Mervyn Tuchet, otherwise Audley, 2nd Earl of Castlehaven and his first wife, Elizabeth Barnham (1592 - about 1622).
He succeeded his father as Earl of Castlehaven on 14 May 1631, when his father was attainted and beheaded.

The barony of Audley went into abeyance between the daughters of the eighteenth Lord in 1872.
In September, 1616, Lord Audley was raised to the Earldom of Castlehaven in consideration of his military services in the Netherlands, France, and Ireland, and more particularly at the siege of Kinsale, where he was severely wounded.

When he was a boy of thirteen or fourteen, James, earl of Castlehaven,was married to Elisabeth Brydges (daughter of his father's secondwife, Anne, by her first husband, Grey Brydges, fifth baron Chandos ofSudeley).
His father(1592-1631), a man of the most profligate life, who married for hissecond wife Lady Anne, daughter of Ferdinando Stanley, fifth earl ofDerby, and widow of Grey Brydges, fifth baron Chandos, was executedfor unnatural offences, after a trial by his peers, on 14 may 1631.
