Baron Fermoy is a title in the Peerage of Ireland.
Diana, Princess of Wales (1961-1997) was a great granddaughter of the Edmond Burke Roche, 1st Baron Fermoy (1815-1874) through her mother, the former Frances Burke Roche.
Her maternal grandfather, 4th Lord Fermoy, was a friend of King George VI and the elder of the twin sons of the American heiress Frances Work and her first husband, Hon.
