However, the Baron's Court seat was too small to survive the redistribution in 1969 and Richard found it difficult to find a new seat, as pro-Europeanism was not popular within the Labour Party.

The tricky part, as we are about to find out, is whether the colossus of the last World Cup has queered his pitch to become England's next manager by criticising the chief executive of the Rugby Football Union.
Baron insists that resentment at Woodward's condemnation of the administration of the game - issued as he walked away from his World Cup-winning XV to try his hand at soccer - played no part in the RFU's decision to reject him and choose Rob Andrew as their new elite performance director.
The possibility of such a scenario now presents itself to Baron and Andrew, always assuming that Johnson does not scare the living daylights out of them, too.

John Ballantyne's Sir Edwin Henry Landseer
Landseer is shown working in the studio of Baron Marochetti on the clay models that he created for the bronze lions in Trafalgar Square.
Ballantyne had to withdraw the painting from exhibition in 1865 because Landseer was furious with him - the lions would not be formally unveiled for another two years and Landseer did not wish for them to be displayed (or in any other way recorded) in their unfinished state.
There is a painting by John Ballantyne in the National Portrait Gallery purporting to show Landseer modeling his lions in Marochetti's studio, but it is not entirely clear what exactly he is doing: he is holding his sculptor's tool in the wrong position; thus held it would give the minimum power.
