Primeiro, com o Aaly Trio, nesse ano acrescentado de Ken Vandermark, naquele que foi um dos melhores concertos e um dos pontos mais altos de toda a história dos já consideráveis 20 anos de JeA; depois, com a bailarina Lotta Melin; e ainda integrado na Big Band de Barry Guy, a esfusiante New Orchestra.
Ver o seu nome figurar associado a uma qualquer formação musical será sempre motivo para despertar a curiosidade e a atenção do jazzófilo comum; mais ainda quando se trate da NOW Orchestra, uma das orquestras mais importantes da chamada música criativa improvisada que se faz em Vancouver, na costa Oeste do Canadá.
A NOW engloba nomes do que de melhor se pode encontrar na difícil disciplina do grande colectivo, na linha de outras congéneres, como a New Orchestra de Barry Guy, ele próprio um colaborador da NOW, tal como o foram René Lussier, Butch Morris, Marilyn Crispell e Wadada Leo Smith.

Kate Hammett-Vaughan studied with vocalists Jay Clayton and Sheila Jordan and has performed and recorded with British bassist Barry Guy, Swiss improvisers Fritz Hauser and Urs Leimgruber, American composer/trombonist George Lewis, Québec composer/guitarist René Lussier, and Canadian drummer Claude Ranger.
As a trumpet player, John has performed with George Lewis, Butch Morris, Barry Guy, Kenny Wheeler, Han Bennick, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Vancouver Ensemble of Jazz Improvisation (VEJI), New Orchestra Workshop, and Shango Ashe amongst others.
Laurence's versatility has also involved him in the musicals "Sweeney Todd" and "Ain't Misbehavin'" for the Arts Club; and "Guys and Dolls", "The Music Man", "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Hello Dolly" at the Vancouver Playhouse theatre.
