However there was a lot more bad stuff in this episode, the guest stars for one, at least Tony Hawk had a sort of important part in the episode but there was no need for the Blink 182 appearrance and the court scene wasn't really that funny.

Boy, two of these really underscore how spoiled I was when I badmouthed "Bart Star." The gap between the (let's say) 100th-worst episode and the 20th-worst is astounding, as is the gap between the 20th-worst and 5th-worst.
In any case, I completely and utterly despise "The Joy of Sect." There was an overwhelming chance that it would land in a pool where (in my opinion) it was easily rock-bottom, yet pro-"Sect" sentiment (see Pool 32 comments) would rescue it from its fate.
In fact, I predict "Barting Over" will get your votes, though pro forma I'll express my opinion that it's not quite as bad as "Sect." It's close, and I may change my mind between now and next week.
