The reservoir was made by putting a bank across the lower end of the valley, and there was a certain amount of excavation round the edges to level the contours and make a proper bank.
For record purposes the reservoir may be considered to be in Warwickshire as being part of the City of Birmingham, but as a matter of fact, a small piece of the Frankley end is in Worcestershire [3].
Waders are not often to be seen at Bartley as there is no suitable accommodation and when they have appeared there has been either a low water level exposing the concrete at the bottom of the bank or a fringe of ice round the edge.

Bartley that both Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush were able to maintain a focus on the big picture, I would not ascribe their appeal solely in terms of their ability to not be drowned in policy detail.
Bartley's praise for the GOP hopeful rests on the latter's putative ability to fly by the seat of his pants, but really distressing to learn that maybe sometimes he won't be able to even pull that off!

This afternoon at Netherton Reservoir saw fewer gulls than on Friday, presumably because the local tips were closed, but an adult Great Black-backed flew through, as did 930 Black-headed, 55 Lesser Black-backed and just one Herring.
At Netherton Reservoir, the 2 summer-plumaged Great Crested Grebes were still present, but the gulls were disturbed by boat activity.

Bartley emphasized, "If we can keep this program alive, we will still have a pen rearing program to put back in the estuary if something bad happens to the wild striped bass population or the federal government changes its policies."
The stupidity of the federal and state and federal bureaucrats and lack of any science but "political science" in backing decisions like the halt to the Delta pen rearing program always amazes me. The striped bass had no problem coexisting with salmon and smelt for 130 years.
