 Humber - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Humber is a large tidal estuary forming part of the boundary between northern and southern England.
When the sea level was lower in the Ice Age, the Humber was a freshwater river that could have flowed up to 30 miles or more according to sea level before it reached the sea or joined the Wash River.
Two fortifications were built in the mouth of the river in 1914, the Humber Forts.

I was born in a small house on the corner of Brigg rd Barton-on-Humber Lincolnshire England on the 23/5/21.
But while still an infant our family moved to a remote farm cottage near Thornton Abbey about eight miles from Barton.
I lived in a farm labourer's cottage with my parents and sisters, total of five kids, also we had a lodger and we called him Uncle Jack.and like my Mother he was a Geordie.
