"A Kahane Disciple Wins Big Vote in Israeli Lubavitch Stronghold - Forward.com"
Baruch Marzel, running under the banner of the National Jewish Front, failed to reach the 2% threshold needed to qualify for a Knesset seat and, perhaps more strikingly, failed to win a single vote in dozens of municipalities throughout Israel.
Marzel had his own explanation for his success with Chabad followers: “What attracts them to me,” he told the Forward, “are my positions on keeping the wholeness of the Torah the wholeness of the Jewish nation and the wholeness of the Land of Israel.”
Marzel said that the recent rabbinical ruling was driven by the Chabad leadership’s decision to advance its economic interests by backing a party that would win parliamentary seats and try to increase the money budgeted to the community.

Chayil Party - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Since Marzel and Ben-Gvir were both senior activists for Kach, the party is very closely identified with Kahanism, the most right-wing stream of nationalism in Israel, though Marzel was number two on Kleiner's Herut list for the 2003 Knesset Elections.
Marzel's activities as a member of Kach in the past decades have earned him the "street credit" that is needed to unite the extreme right behind his movement.
Chayil, in the tradition of its predecessor Kach, is different from Tehiya, Moledet and Tzomet or even Herut in that it places its platform in a context of religious obligation, whereas the others are secular parties built around military figures or pre-independence ideologues like Vladimir Jabotinsky.

The Head Heeb: A dangerous decision The Central
The Central Elections Committee voted by a 21-18 margin not to disqualify Herut candidate Baruch Marzel, despite evidence that he remains the leader of the outlawed Kach movement.
The official standard for disqualification is opposition to the concept of Israel as a Jewish-democratic state, but a party-line vote favoring Marzel over the Arab parties will make clear that the CEC doesn't have a problem with anti-democratic forces within the Jewish community.
If the Arab parties are disqualified but Marzel isn't, then Arab Israelis could be forgiven for believing that the CEC simply doesn't value their participation in the political process.
