  2000 Baseball Hall of Fame Ballot by Baseball Almanac
On December 1, 1999, the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) began voting for future inductees into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The ballot below is an actual example of the one used by writers during the election and it had to be returned by December 31, 1999.
The ballot contained the names of thirty eligible candidates including players who received at least 5% of the ballots cast in 1999, and first year players that are selected by a screening committe and designated by a '+' next to their name on the sample ballot.
