We (4) are planning to spend one week in Basel or Mulhouse during next Advent to visit the region nearby: Colmar, Riquewihr, Freiburg and obviously Basel and Mulhouse.
I have also considered taking a flight out of the major city into on that is closer to Basel, and then taking a train into the SBB station from there.
I would prefer that the train ride be about 1.5 hours, and hopefully depart from a station that is easily accessible from the area's major airport.
