	American Diocese, Indian Orthodox Church
		His Holiness Moran Mar Baselious Marthoma Mathews II, the Catholicose and Malankara Metropolitan, was born at Perinadu in Kollam district of Kerala, India on January 30,1915, to Mr.Idiculla and Mrs.Annamma, Puthusherazhikathu Puthen Veedu.
		He was ordained as Sub Deacon in 1938 by the late Catholicose His Holiness Baselious Geevarghese II (Memory Eternal), as Deacon on May 6,1941 and as Priest on May 25,1941.
		His Holiness Baselious Mathews II is the most traveled Catholicose in the history of the Catholicate.

		It was Mor Baselious Shakralla during his stay at Mattancherry, built the Syrian Church located there, and worked hard to reaffirm the Apostolic faith of the Syrian Church.
		The Association in its meeting has requested the Catholicos Mar Geevarghese II to assume the additional role of Malankara Metropolitan also, due to the demise of previous Malankara Metropolitan Mar Dionysius VI.
		The Patriarch convened a Universal Synod of the Syrian Orthodox Church in 1975 and excommunicated the Catholicose Augen I. Consequently the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church elected Mor Philexinos Paulose as the new Catholicose-designate and in 1975 and he was ordained as Catholicose Mor Baselios Paulose II for the Indian Church for the Bava kakshi.

		On 25th September 1996 the Seminary was officially inaugurated by H.G. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Osthathios, the President of the Mission Board of the Malankara Church, in the presence of H.G. Stephanus Mar Theodosius and H.G. Geevarghese Mar Ivanius (Kottayam).
		His Holiness Moran Mar Baselious Mar Thoma Mathews II laid the foundation stone for the New Seminary building in Kalmeshwar on 10 Dec 1997.
		The seminary is situated in the middle of 15 acres of land.

	St. George Syrian Orthodox Church, Cheppaud.
		The two local leaders, Palakunnathu Abraham Malpaan (Syriac Professor at yhe Theological Seminary at Kottayam) and Kaithayil Geevarghese Malpan and their followers were excommunicated from the Syrian Orthodox church.

		Bronx NY It was a coincidence that on November 2, 1972, the Feast of Parumala Thirumeni (His Grace Geevarghese Mar Gregorios), the first Holy Qurbana was celebrated at 1800 Grand Concourse.
		The foundation stone for the proposed St. Gregorios Annex building was laid by His Holiness Moran Mar Baselious Mar Thoma Mathews II, Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan on Sunday, September 4, 1996 and upon receiving the permit and permission from the city, construction began.
		Previous to the consecration, on His historic visit to the United States, His Holiness Mathews II, Supreme Head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church conducted Holy Qurbana in our church and blessed the St. Gregorios Annex building for the successful completion of the construction on October 10, 1999.

		Majanikkara, Kothamangalam and Parumala are conspicuous in India as the greatest pilgrim centers of the Syrian Christians where millions gather for commemorating the 'Dhukrono' of the three Saintly High-Priests; Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Elias III (Majanikkara, 1932), His Beatitude Mor Yeldho Baselios Maphrian (Catholicos) and His Grace Mor Gregorios Geevarghese Metropolitan (Parumala, 1902).
		Mor Baselios Paulose II read the historical Proclamation of H.H. Patriarch, in the presence of all the Metropolitans of the Malankara Church and thousands of faithful assembled there.

	Malanakara Church
		When this article was written, Thomas Athanasius was administering the Kandanad diocese as Assistant Metropolitan to the Catholicose Aboon Mor Baselious Paulose II Bava.
		Unfortunately in 1996, he had switched over to Methran Kakshi, a dissident section of the Malankara Syrian Church formed in 1912 under the patronship of a deposed Metropolitan Vattasseril Geevarghese Dionysius.
		Of the four bishops who switched sides, it was only Thomas Athanasius who was ordained by the late lamented Aboon Mor Baselios Paulose II, the Catholicose of the East of the Jacobite Syrian Church.

		It appears Mar Baselius Geevarghese died in January 1964 and the members of the Holy Episcopal Synod installed one Ougen Mar Themotheus, Metropolitan as his successor as his election by the Malankara Association on 17th May 1962 was approved by the Holy Synod on 21st March 1963.
		It obviates any ambiguity by making it clear that where even right to an office is contested then it would be a suit of a civil nature even though that right may entirely depend on the decision of a question as to religious rites or ceremonies.
		Explanation II widens it further to even those offices to which no fees are attached.

		In the evening His Holiness visited the tomb of late lamented Catholicos of the East Aboon Mor Baselios Paulose II at Malecuriz Dayro, situated only a few distance away.
		The Patriarch said he was happy to declare the Soonoro church a cathedral and appealed to the faithful to thank God for the favour.

		Montanus, a monk believed in the inspiration of Spirit, raised heresies based on such stray thoughts in the second century that the end of time was near, Second coming of the Lord was imminent, New Jerusalem would soon descend, etc. He imposed rigorous fasting and discipline and prohibited marriage and wine.
		Venerable fathers of the Church fought against the heresy, defended the value of marriage and decreed, “Baselious Patriarch: Those who renounce marriage and wine and say God’s creation is defiled need be re-baptized for they are equal to Marcian (another heretic) and weak concerning God,” Hydaya Canon 2: 1.
		He was ordained as a Deacon in 1943 by H.H. Mar Basalios Geevarghese II.
