My experience with AWOLS in basic was that they were basically punks who responded to every OTHER stress in their life by running away.....therefore their reaction to the military is no different.....EXCEPT...that it now falls under the jurisdiction of the military system of justice.
Basic is 8 weeks and then you go off to your AIT (advanced Indvidual training)which is the training school for the specialty you enlisted for.
All Basic training is done by the active army and reservists are mixed in with the regulars so there is no difference between the basic training given to reservists and regulars.
