Basil Brush was created in 1963 by Peter Firming and originally voiced by Ivan Owen (who died in 2000).
In 2002, Basil made a comeback in a new CBBC sitcom, again named The Basil Brush Show, in which his new comic foil was played by Christopher Pizzey.

As a big kid I have been enjoying the new Basil Brush shows on TV and bought this DVD hoping that it would be a great reminder of how much better the original Basil really was.
On the plus side, there are enough genuinely hilarious moments to keep you watching (Basil singing along with Demis Roussos is pure genius) and some of his one-liners had me on the floor.
