| | The Hindu : Tunisia keen on joint ventures with India |
 | | Tunisia, the north African-cum-south Mediterranean country with strong historical and economic ties to Europe and West Asia, is keen on promoting joint ventures with India, according to the Tunisian Ambassador to India, Dr. Mohammed Sahbi Basly. |
 | | Addressing a meeting organised by the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) on Thursday, Dr Basly said bilateral cooperation received a boost with the setting up of the India-Tunisia Joint Business Council (JBC) last December, when an agreement on cooperation in tourism was signed. |
 | | Basly pointed out that Tunisia, with a population of 9.1 million, had emerged as the most prosperous country in Africa, with a per capita income of $2,700 (and $5,500 in terms of purchasing power parity) since its adoption of democracy and modernisation programmes in 1987. |
