Bass Tabs - Over 56,000 Tabs
While standard musical notation represents the rhythm and duration of each note and its pitch relative to the scale based on a twelve tone division of the octave, tablature is instead operationally based, indicating where and when a finger should be pressed to generate a note.
The rhythmic symbols of tabs tell when to start a note, but often there no indication of when to stop sounding it, so duration is at the discretion of the performer to a greater extent than is the case in conventional musical notation.
Bass tabs do not infringe upon publishers' copyrights because it does not come from pre-existing printed resources and are not entirely accurate representations of songs.

  Figured bass
Figured bass is a kind of musical notation used to indicate chords in relation to a bass note.
A part notated with figured bass consists of a bass-line notated in the normal western manner (with notes on a musical staff) plus added numbers and accidentals beneath the staff to indicate at what intervals above the bass notes should be played, and therefore which inversions of which chords are to be played.
Here, the bass note is a C, and the numbers 4 and 6 indicate that notes a fourth and a sixth above it should be played, that is an F and an A. In other words, the second inversion of an F major chord is to be played.

A second inversion seventh chord--the fifth of the chord is in the bass.
A third inversion seventh chord--the seventh of the chord is in the bass.
The note that is not included in the figured bass numbers is the fifth of the chord, which can be added by including a sixth above the bass note.

Note: If you are using taperwound 4th string (and 5th if you have a 5-string bass) use the actual gauge of the string for your measurement-not the dimension of the tapered portion of the string.
Note: In either case, if you meet excessive resistance when adjusting the truss rod, your instrument needs constant adjustment, adjusting the truss rod has no effect on the neck, or you're simply not comfortable making this type of adjustment yourself, take your instrument to your local Authorized Fender Service Center.
Note: If you feel you need this adjustment to be made and you're not comfortable with the procedure, take your guitar to your authorized Fender Service Center.

 Black Bass
Often confused with smallmouth and spotted bass, it is easily distinguishable because the upper jaw extends beyond the rear edge of the eye.
Black bass are the most popular sportfish in north America and their value to Florida is immense (see: Florida Bass Values for more details).
Unlike the largemouth, the spotted bass has scales on the base portion of the second dorsal fin; its first and second dorsal fin are clearly connected, and its upper jaw does not extend past the eye.

On some basses I have heard the overtone is so prominent that it overrides the fundamental, giving the weird sensation of another soprano being played.
The idea of the "short bass" from C to E' became a reality by cutting the frame at the brace between the B and C. This is the bending form for the outer rail, it's made of particle board and short lengths of 2x4.
An opening was made in the bottom of each tube, 1" diameter for the upper notes, 1 3/4" diameter on the lowest note with in-between sizes for the middle resonators.

The body is the "bottom" part of the bass, where you see the bridge, pickups, Volume and Tone knobs, and (sometimes) a pickguard.
The bridge is the bottom part of the bass through which the strings are strung.
Note that the grooves are roughly the size of the intended string, so you can place thinner strings in them (Note that this does not mean I recommend you do so), but thicker strings will be a problem.

With bass notes, the problems are especially noticeable, since the wavelengths are longer and you can't simply move your head a couple of inches to compensate for the problem - something you probably do unconsciously for higher frequencies.
Note that at the 7-foot point, or 1/4 wavelength, the net result is zero, regardless of which phase is hitting the wall, so the ear hears no pressure variations at this location.
Note that no matter what phase of the wave is hitting the boundary, there is always a cancellation at the 1/4 wavelength point.

 Inversions of Triads
A triad is inverted when a note other than the root is acting as the bass note.
Two inversions are possible: the third as the bass note or the fifth as the bass note.
When the third is in the bass the triad is in first inversion and when the fifth is in the bass the triad is in second inversion.

Bass (musical term) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bass (IPA: [beɪs], rhyming with "face"), when used as an adjective, describes tones of low frequency or range.
Played in an ensemble/orchestra, such notes are frequently used to provide a counterpoint or counter-melody, in an harmonic context either to outline or juxtapose the progression of the chords, or with percussion to underline the rhythm.
As a noun, a bass is a musical instrument or singer with a low range: see: bass (vocal range) and bass (instrument).

Bass note - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The bass note of a chord or sonority is the lowest note played or notated.
While the bass note is often the root or fundamental of the chord, it does not have to be, and sometimes one of the other pitches of the chord will be the root.
In pre-tonal theory, root notes were not considered and thus the bass was the most defining note of a sonority.

 Chords
However, if another note of the chord is in the bass, or lowest voice, we say the chord is inverted.
Seventh chords, which have another note left, are in third inversion when the seventh is the lowest pitch.
A slash through a number indicates that you should raise that note one half-step (by adding whatever accidental, sharp, flat, double sharp, double flat, or natural), while an accidental before a number means to add that specific accidental to the pitch.

Typically it’s done with a flatpick, with a downstroke for both the bass notes and the brushes, but it also works well with a thumbpick.
With bare fingers, using your thumb for the bass note and one or more fingers for the downstroke gives you a little more ring (from the fingernails) than using your thumb twice.
That’s because, in every case, the first note is the root note of the chord—the note that the chords is named after.

The phenomenon that is known as a wolf note occurs in a high percentage of stringed musical instruments.
On the double bass this frequently occurs on the A string at about the note A or G# which are located virtually opposite the root of the neck.
In some instruments the wolf note can be quite disconcerting for the player, in other instruments the wolf note can be simply a minor irritation.

 NWCForum - reading bass clef
The note on the first leger line above the bass staff is the same note, middle C. This trick might also help; if you're comfortable with treble clef and can recognize notes at a glance, you can look at a note in bass clef and mentally shift it up two note positions.
For instance, the note on the lowest line of the staff would be an "E" in treble clef; shift it up two note positions, and you have "G" in bass clef (except of course two octaves lower).
I "read" the bass clef by focusing on D (or Db), at the center staff line, since it is a note I can naturally sing well.

If it misses notes, or the threshold is set wrong, you will have to go back through the track to fix all of the little problems it creates, and you still won’t have a track that was Pocketed by ear.
Since this bass guitar will generally have a consistent sound through the whole track, we have decided that the start of our note (the piece that we will be lining up against our other tracks) will generally be the third or fourth cycle of the note.
