 Nimrod (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nimrod is a robotic supervillain, an enemy of Marvel Comics’ X-Men.
Bastion was a human-looking android that possessed great insight into the political process and initiated Operation: Zero Tolerance, a government-sponsored program to eliminate mutant terrorist groups (including the X-Men).
Bastion was eventually revealed when it was discovered he was turning humans into a new breed of Sentinels.

The commonly agreed upon founding stone of the Croatian comics is Vjerenica maca (The Sword's Fiancee) drawn by Andrija Maurovic, adapted by Kresimir Kovacic from the novel by Paul Feval and published in Novosti newspaper in 1935.
He initiated the biennial Comics Salon in Vinkovci (the first one held in 1984), the formation of the Croatian Society of Strip Authors in 1985, and the strip magazine Patak (The Drake) which he edited over ten years and 22 issues.
The first one is Kvadrat, a magazine for comics criticism in the country without a magazine that would publish exclusively comics, selling more copies than any of the fanzines and surviving on pure enthusiasm of its editor Vjeko Djanis.

 Nonprofit Prism Comics Seeks Donors to Reduce Debt
The president of Prism Comics, the nonprofit organization that advocates for greater inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) characters and creators in the comic book industry, announced today that the organization is seeking support from the comics community to reduce its debt and prepare for its activities in 2005.
Since Prism Comics is a 501(c)3 charity, donations are tax deductible in the U.S., a fact which Christensen hopes will encourage a last-minute push as the year draws to a close.
One of the most high-profile ways is their annual resource guide Prism Comics: Your LGBT Guide to Comics, the 2004 edition of which was a 128-page paperback profiling 80 different creators and featuring a full 50 page anthology of exclusive and preview comics.

Macfarlane and company recruited who they felt were the best artists in comics at the time, with the assumption that people bought comics based on the art quality.
A lot was said about how vital the artist's role was to the medium, and I recall a few of them basically saying that the writers were more or less earning their paychecks off the artists, who supposedly were the ones truly telling the story and selling the issues.
My experience has been that, in general, the more someone knows about comics, the more they realize how much of these titles is sheer repetition with a little shock value thrown in.
