Bathampton is a village 2 miles east of Bath, England on the south bank of the River Avon.
The Kennet and Avon Canal passes through the village and a toll bridge links Bathampton to Batheaston on the north bank of the river.
Plasticine was manufactured in the village between 1900 and 1983, by a company founded by William Harbutt, who also lived in Bathampton.

Suggestions as to how slow traffic down in Bathampton will be on show at Bathampton Village Hall on Tuesday (19 November).
The current 20mph speed limit was installed in the village last year (2001) but many drivers are simply ignoring it and drive dangerously fast through the village.
As a result traffic officers from Bath and North East Somerset Council have met several times with Bathampton Parish Council as well as local residents and together have come up with these new proposals that are expected to slow vehicles down and stop them exceeding the legal speed limit.

No decision on the Park and Ride site at Lambridge has yet been made and the work by the archaeological investigation team does not indicate that the planning application will be approved or refused.
Nearby archaeological remains include Bronze Age (2400BC-700BC) barrows (earth mounds containing graves) on Lansdown; an Iron Age (700BC-43AD) enclosure recorded on Bathampton Down; the Roman Fosse Way at Bathford and a hoard of Roman coins found at Batheaston.
