 Powering Your Antique Battery Radio
These batteries were known as A, B, and C. Radio engineers soon designed circuits to eliminate the C battery in a typical radio circuit.
The voltage required from the B battery depends on the size of the charge needed at the tube's plate.
This battery eliminator is friendlier to the environment than disposable cells and its cost of operation will be next to nothing.

 Battery Isolator Eliminator
The Eliminator is a multi-step regulator with the express purpose of tending for the starter battery.
The Eliminator connects between the house and starter banks, maintaining the correct charge level on the starter bank while the house bank is being charged from alternators, battery chargers, solar panels, wind generators or other charging devices.
Battery temperature sensing is standard, and protects batteries in hot or cold weather.

We used an Accel battery eliminator and an Accel solid-state voltage regulator tucked under the solo seat.
The wiring from the generator and battery eliminator was run under the tank and wires for the tail lights, brake lights, and oil pressure switch were run down through the seat post to the bottom of the bike to keep the wires out of the way.
Use a borrowed battery to polarize your system (the eliminator/capacitor needs to know which way it is being used just like the generator).

 Battery Eliminator Circuits
A battery eliminator circuit (BEC) eliminates the need for the radio control receiver's battery, by powering it from the main battery.
This has the advantage of removing one battery from the robot, but has the potential to reduce or even destroy the effectiveness of the radio control system.
If we are powering the radio control receiver off the main battery, and the speed controller draws a large current to power the motors, then the voltage on the ground line will increase, and the voltage on the Vin line will decrease.

system, which mounts directly on the lift truck, converts the main battery voltage (up to 39 volts) to a clean 7.2 volts supply that will power any barcode scanner or similar terminal, and in the process, it eliminates the battery.
The drain on the main lift truck battery is hardly even measurable because most battery powered devices run on very low amperage.
At standard battery use rates, operating on a five day workweek around the clock, the return on investment is less than a year.

Your biggest expense related to rechargeable batteries is not the cost of the batteries.
The batteries that power these units are generally Nickel Cadmium (NiCad), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh), or Lithium Ion because of the requirements for electronically clean power for the terminal.
This downtime is very costly, and once the batteries are worn out, they become hazardous waste, with the associated disposal headaches and long term threat to our environment.
