Battle in the Bassen Rift - Memory Alpha - A Wikia wiki
The Battle in the Bassen Rift was an encounter between the USS Enterprise-E, assisted by forces of the Romulan Star Empire, against the Reman warbird Scimitar, which was commanded by Shinzon.
The battle itself, fought in 2379, was a fierce engagement between the Scimitar, a unique and heavily armed warbird of Reman design, and the Sovereign-class Enterprise-E, which was assisted by two Valdore-type warbirds.
During the battle on Deck 29, the Scimitar fired a spread of photon torpedoes at the Enterprise, destroying the front of the Federation flagship's bridge, causing an explosive decompression, which killed Lieutenant Branson before an emergency force field was erected to seal the hull breach.

In a multilayer device, for example, a drug-to-carrier polymer ratio that is higher in the interior layers than in the external layers could result in a lower initial dose delivery and in a total dose that would be delivered more uniformly and over a sustained period.
The medical device and drug industries continue to search for more opportunities in which drug delivery can be combined with devices to enable delivery of the pharmacological agent directly to the target site in a manner similar to that of drug-eluting coronary stents.
Devices previously hindered by biological challenges such as inflammation, tissue growth, or foreign-body responses, are now being developed and tested for potential commercial use.

First World War.com - Battles - The Battle of Cambrai, 1917
The Battle of Cambrai, launched in November 1917, heralded the first time tanks were used in significant force, a little over a year after they had made their tentative debut at Flers on the Somme in September 1916.
Aside from their undoubted initial value as a surprise tactic they were deemed to be of limited use in offensive operations, unwieldy and prone to malfunction.
During the battle casualties were high: the Germans suffered losses of approximately 50,000 and the British 45,000.

The battle ended with the defeat of the Scimitar only thanks to sabotage from within the Reman ship itself, and was achieved at great cost in both manpower and equipment.
During the battle on Deck 29, the Scimitar fired a spread of photon torpedoes at the Enterprise, destroying the front of the Federation flagship's bridge, causing an explosive decompression, which killed Lieutenant Bradson before an emergency force field was erected to seal the hull breach.
With the battle deteriorating into one of sheer attrition, it appeared that the Scimitar would win thanks to its superior weaponry and shielding - the Enterprise had depleted its complement of photon torpedoes and phasers were only operating at 4% while the Scimitar's shields were still running at 70%.

Viking Answer Lady Webpage - The Beasts of Battle: Wolf, Eagle, and Raven In Germanic Poetry
One approach is analyzing the uses of the Beasts of Battle has been to examine how the theme is related to the pagan religion of the early Germanic peoples, hypothesizing that the Beasts of Battle are meant to summon associations of the omen-laden and sinister cult of the war-god, Óðinn.
The theme of the Beasts of Battle does serve to add a descriptive element to the poetry in which it is found, evoking a whole series of images which paint the scene upon the mind's eye of the audience.
Formulas such as the Beasts of Battle theme can show a warrior to be as noble as the eagle soaring overhead, as doomed as the raven-picked corpse, or as victorious as the wolves which run upon the field of battle as the only creatures which death cannot claim.

Fudge Factor: Roleplaying Large Scale Battles
It doesn't really matter if the battle is set on a medieval fantasy world with elves and giants, or on a planet far, far away with drones and genetically modified beasties, much (if not all) of this advice still hold true.
Battle never lets up, so the pacing should be relentless regardless of where the PCs are in the battle.
Therefore, all extended movement during a battle is dangerous, be it running down a street in the besieged castle, or attempting to dash across the battlefield to defend your king.

Cloaking device - Memory Alpha - A Wikia wiki
A cloaking device is a form of stealth technology that uses selective bending of light (and other forms of energy) to render a starship or other object completely invisible to the electromagnetic spectrum and most sensors.
The effectiveness of this technology was demonstrated at the Battle of the Bassen Rift, where the Scimitar engaged the USS Enterprise-E, the IRW Valdore and another warbird, and was able to destroy one of the warbirds and cripple the other without suffering any significant damage.
The device was lost in 2358 when the testbed vessel, the USS Pegasus was presumed destroyed by a warp core breach in a mutiny by members of the crew concerned about the legality of the test.
