Polish Renaissance Warfare - Summary of Conflicts - Part Five
After the battle the noble levy, deciding their duty was completed, dispersed while the remaining forces moved towards the Ukraine and joined up with the equally victorious Lithuanian army.
After the battle the Cossacks paid the Tartars to give them their share of the prisoners so that they could be killed, amoungst the dead was the brother of the future King Jan Sobieski, Marek.
Batoh led to a new 36,000 army with a much-reorganised financial base, making forces easier to raise and maintain, the Kwarta tax was used to maintain the artillery and fortifications.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: John Sobieski
His elder brother Mark was his companion in arms from the time of the great Cossack rebellion (1648), and fought at Zbaraz, Beresteczko, and lastly at Batoh where, after being taken prisoner, he was murdered by the Tatars.
Their retreat was taken for flight by the Turks, who rushed forward in pursuit; the hussars turned upon them with reinforcements and charged again, when their shouts made known that the "Northern Lion" was on the field and the Turks fled, panic-stricken, with Sobieski's horsemen still in pursuit.
Still the battle raged for a time along all the line; both sides fought bravely, and the king was everywhere commanding, fighting, encouraging his men and urging them forward.

It could just be that Ghost resides in another of Nichols' theoretical spaces -- "zero time" -- that ethereal bottle space outside our normal three-dimensional universe where time's grim march never even started.
It's a fantastic, paradisiacal island that a few fellow troubadours of perception -- Amon Düül II, "Battle of Evermore"phase Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead/Charlatans/Jefferson Airplane S.F.-sound phalanx, Fisherman's Bluesera Waterboys, Pearls Before Swine, early-'90s Talk Talk -- have succeeded in reaching, generously leaving real-world runed markers to show the way.
For Snuffbox Immanence, painstakingly recorded over 12 months, Ghost eschews the brutish '70s hard-rock trappings that occasionally appeared on previous releases (and dominated the cerebellum-splitting '97 album Free Your Satori Mind, credited to Ghost offshoot Cosmic Invention) in favor of a largely acoustic soundworld.

Opener “Panda” finds Beatlesque pop battling aggressive prog a la Styx or Kansas, and some heavily-treated guitars and vocal effects highlight “Gjort Bort Sig,” more proggy psych in the vein of Lucky Bishops, but also fondly reminiscent of Mike Patto and Timebox.
Unfortunately, the track deteriorates into a battle royale with guitar, horns, drums and unintelligible field recordings struggling for supremacy and the listener is left to sort out the cacophonous wall of noise, like listening to a shortwave radio station under the covers late at night with three channels intersecting each other at once.
Essays from Byron Coley and Patty herself and an introduction from Ghost vocalist Masaki Batoh once again lovingly place her influences into perspective.
