The Battle of Blenheim (also known as the Battle of Höchstädt) was a major battle in the War of the Spanish Succession, August 13, 1704.
The battle was decisive in Austrian and British favour, and the French were thrown back across the Rhine.
One of the RAF's fast fighter bombers of the Battle of Britain, the Bristol Blenheim, is named in commemoration of this battle.

In the following year (i 703), having obtained the rank of lieutenant-general, Leopold took part in the siegeof Bonnand distinguished himself very greatly in the battle of Hochstadt, in which the Austrians and their allies were defeated by the French under Marshal Villars (September 20,1703).
In 1710 he succeeded to the command of the whole Prussian contingent at the front, and in 1712, at the particular desire of the crown prince, Frederick William, who had served with him as a volunteer, he was made a general field marshal.
His conduct of the siege of Stralsund which followed was equally skilful,and the great results of the war to Prussia were largely to be attributed to his leadership in the campaign.

Do you think the reason that the Battle of Blenheim is not as famous at Waterloo, etc, is because we had so many Allies to share in the victory.
ES: In fact, the number of British troops at both battles was one fifth of the Allied force.
ES: In Europe the battle is known as the Battle of Hochstadt.
