During the battle, Banu Nadir and Banu Qurayza fought with Banu Aus, while Banu Qaynuqa were allied with Banu Khazraj.
Muhammad was invited to Medina to broker a peace between the warring tribes, and in September 622, he arrived with a group of his followers, who were given shelter by members of the indigenous community known as the Ansar.
In March 624, Muslims led by Muhammad defeated the Meccans of the Banu Quraish tribe in the Battle of Badr.

Khaybar - (or Khaibar) is an oasis lying about 95 miles (150 km) north of Medina (ancient Yathrib), Saudi Arabia.
The Jews of Khaybar were a rich community of traders as well as farmers, raising grapes, dates, vegetables and grain.
The Hizbullah version is Khaybar, Khaybar ya Sahyoun, Hizbullah qadimun, meaning "Khaybar, Khaybar O Zionists, Hizbullah is coming soon." Hezbulla renamed one model of their Syrian-supplied rockets, used in the 2006 Lebanon war against Israel, Khaybar II.

Khaybar enjoys fertile land and abundant water, hence it was famous for having many palm trees, apart from the corn and fruits it produced.
What helped the Muslims to conquer Khaybar was the fact that after the treaty of al Hudaybiyah they were free to fight the Jews without Quraysh helping them (the Jews), and that the tribe of Ghatafan abandoned the alliance with the Jews of Khaybar out of fear for their own homes.
Similarly, the victory at Khaybar had a resounding effect on the other Arab tribes who were astonished by the news and so panic-stricken by the victory, that they held back their hostility and turned to reconciliation.

 Safiyya bint Huyayy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The marriage occurred after the battle of Khaybar.
She was the daughter of Huyayy ibn Akhtab, the chief of Jewish tribe Banu Nadir, who were earlier expelled from Medina for allegedly plotting to kill Muhammad.
Muhammad married her to save her from becoming a slave after the defeat of her tribe in the battle of Khaybar.

 The Battle of Khaybar
According to al-Waqidi, this battle took place at the beginning of the 7th year of the Hijrah.59 There were at the time of the settlement of Khaybar (near Medina) fourteen thousand Jews, living in well fortified strongholds.
It is reported that after the Messenger of Allah had concluded the affair of Khaybar, he raised a banner of war and demanded; "Who will rise and take this, and be worthy of it?" He did this because he wished to send an army under it to the gardens of Fadak.
It is further reported that when the Messenger of Allah had conquered Khaybar, news came of the return of Ja'far ibn Abi Talib and his Companions from Abyssinia to Medina.
