News - Kojima talks Metal Gear 4, Subsistence and Acid 2 // None /// Eurogamer
Nevertheless Kojima was confident he'll surpass his previous efforts: "To overcome myself is quite easy, so I'll probably just have to do it again for Metal Gear Solid 4".
Curiously, Kojima still refuses to rule out bringing the Metal Gear franchise to other formats, despite having no specific plans yet, although he did imply that "everyone in Japan has a good feeling" about Xbox 360 development, and Microsoft Japan is supporting the community well.
Intriguingly, Kojima sees this implementation of the online mode as a "trial" for how well online features are accepted for the series, suggesting that feedback will play a role in the development of Metal Gear Solid 4.

Kojima, who has created a behemoth of a game that has leap-frogged every other next-generation game in looks, complexity, technical design, and detail for the PS2 -- or any console for that matter -- must get down to business and finish his opus.
Hideo Kojima: Last year at E3 we showed the trailer to give you an idea of where we were headed and then the question was what will it feel like when it is playable.
Hideo Kojima: The theme of the previous game and the theme of this game work together, they make up this one big theme that I'm trying to give to everyone and the three Snakes are like actors trying to present that theme.

Kojima, producer of the Metal Gear Solid series, is idolised by gamers, and though many of them disagree on what the hell is happening in some of his more recent games' plots, everyone agrees that his glasses are probably the greatest glasses ever.
Kojima has been quite outspoken in the past on the influence of the Kurt Russell character on Solid Snake, and seeing as every little quirk of his games has some place in American pop-culture lore, I figured it was best to ask about Solid Snake's mullet.
Kojima insists games' stories aren't composed as something that will end up as literature one day; the writer is simply taking pieces of the times and throwing them together into something designed to keep the player pressing buttons.

Hideo Kojima himself tried to bring back the long-gone fans who jumped ship for GTA (or whatever license was "HOT" back then/now) by saying that Snake was still the main character of MGS2.
In the beginning, Kojima's original conception of the Raiden character did reflect on the attempted emphasis of Snake as the main character.
With the malfunctioning, and ultimately artificial "colonel" serving as the catalyst, he begins to break down at the thought that the only woman he loved, whether she fit his needs or not, could also be an illusion.

So my impression of the battle between the consoles is, it’s not about what kind of dinner it is. It’s more about how much the dinner will be.
