The Battle of Krojanty was part of the Polish September Campaign of the Second World War.
The battle took place near the village of Krojanty in Pomerania (7 kilometres from the town of Chojnice) on September 1, 1939.
Polish units were engaged in battle from 0500 against elements of German 76th Infantry Regiment of 20th Motorised Division under Lt.Gen. Mauritz von Wiktorin, which operated on the left (northern) flank of XIX Panzer Corps under Gen. Heinz Guderian.

The largest battle during this campaign (Battle of Bzura) took place near the Bzura river west of Warsaw from 9 September to 18 September, when Polish armies Poznań and Pomorze, retreating from the border area of the Polish Corridor, attacked the flank of the advancing German 8th army.
The city of Lwów capitulated on 22 September, and in a turn of events illustrating well this bizarre campaign, it capitulated to the Soviets, even though it had been attacked by Germans over a week earlier—in the middle of the siege, German troops were relieved by their Soviet allies.

I dont know if this can be done, but their special ability would be to take the weapons of the defeated soldiers and use them during the battle, adopting 3/4 of the other units stats....
Or alternatively, maybe so you could choose at the beginning of the battle what kind of unit did you want them to be of the ones you have and excluding cavs, and they would get 3/4 of that units stats as described above.
During the reign of Gustav Adolf II, Swedish artillery was the most effiecient artillery on the battle field.

The first major battle with Polish cavalry using lances took place in Albuhera in Spain, on May 16th 1811.
A lot of you have mentioned that on the Sep 1st 1939 Polish cavalry attacked German tanks (using sabres and lances) in Chojnice area (Krojanty village exactly).

In fact units of 18 Pomorian Uhlans Regiment participated on 1st September in a succesfull cavalry charge against an infantry battalion of the German 2 Motorised Infantry Division at Krojanty, when they accidentally ran into some armoured cars and suffered substantial losses.
The event was immediatly jumped upon by the Germans, who showed off the dead ulhans to foreign journalists as victims of a charge against German tanks.
The most effective battle of Polish cavalry was Mokra battle, where Wolynska cavalry brigade, supported with a armored train stopped and caused big losses to 4th Panzer division (about 50 tanks and 500-800 troops).
