To mention the many field officers who died or were wounded while gallantly leading their commands into action and the many brilliant instances of individual courage displayed by officers and men in the twenty hours of battle is impossible at this time, but their names will be duly made known to their countrymen.

General Buell, coming on the field with a distinct army long under his command, and which did such efficient service, commanded by himself in person on the field, will be much better able to notice those of his command who particularly distinguished themselves than I possibly can.

Crushing his opponents at the Battle of Lose-Coat Field (March 12, 1470), Edward then discovered evidence that the rebellion had actually been instigated by Warwick and George, Duke of Clarence, for the purpose of showing that Edward could not control the kingdom.
Margaret's army rescued King Henry, whom Warwick had forced to take a place in the battle line, but Edward meanwhile secured a Yorkist victory at Mortimer's Cross, marched into London unopposed, and assumed the throne as Edward IV, London was panic-stricken but Queen Margaret, instead of driving forward to take the city, hesitated.
Known during the period as the wars between Lancaster and York, it was not until much later that it was remarked upon that the symbol of the House of York was the white rose and that the coat of arms of the House of Lancaster included a red rose.

 Wargames Journal
The battle was typical of the petite guerre that characterised the latter stages of the war in the North after 1777, and the Southern campaigns of 1780 and 1781.
Spencer’s Ordinary was a plantation that included a house and barn (and possibly one or two smaller outbuildings); an apple orchard due east of the house; and a large cornfield and a ploughed field to the south-east and south-west, respectively.
Both sides had plenty of officers and NCOs, so it is possible to start the battle using officers as squad leaders, and allow sergeants to replace them immediately if they are hit (obviously still use company commanders as per the rules).

Matching principle = where you match one of your most effective units against another unit that is ineffective against it ie Yari vs cav Rout confusion = when an enemy unit routs but runs the wrong way from battle into your troops, they do still fight their way sometimes through your troops.
backstab = to massacre your allies on the field when they rout, though with daimyo aligned forces it has the effect of declaration of war with ronin they won't really mind.
V1.9 Update Weapons upgrades and armour upgrades apply mostly to custom battles since you can't actually control how and what condition you get units in from kublai kahn.It makes it rather a red herring compared to units that are trained on the japanese main land.
