Nemea lies on the northern border of the Argolid (the Northeastern Peloponnese of Southern Greece).
Nemea means "grazing" and there seems to be some evidence that Nemean Zeus may have been a pastoral god, not the old familiar guy with the thunderbolt.
The battle at Nemea was part of the Corinthian War.

Even on land the Spartan hoplites were beaten by the Athenians at Pylos; not just beaten they surrendered! And as for the "flea-bitten" Athenians perhaps they didnt comb their long fl curly hair all the time, and bath their mates backs like the Spartans.
