The Battle of Tolentino was the decisive battle in the Neapolitan War, fought by the king of Naples Joachim Murat to keep the throne after the Congress of Vienna.
It is also considered the first battle of the Italian unification, since Murat issued a proclamation calling for Italian patriots help to unify Italy.

Tolentino was caught at the crossroads of Italian national history: the beginning and end of the french-italian era, between a decline of papal power (Treaty of Tolentino signed on 19 February 1797 between Napoleone Bonaparte and Pope Pio VI 's representative) and the origins of the Italian Resurgence or 'Risorgimento' (Battle of Tolentino).
The manifestation held once a year since 1996, is at the Castle of the 'Rancia', and the Tolentino town center, on the first Sunday each May;it alternates between battle reenactmens and a display of historical military groups.
The purpose is to promote a view of culture and tourisme of Tolentino and the surrounding areas; allowing one to re-live the past and know of it, through exacting historical re-enactment, as true as possible, with addition of spectacle.

He was with Bonaparte in the Egypt campaign and, after the success obtained in the battle of Abukir (1799), where he distinguished himself for his bravery in combat and for his tactic ability, he was appointed marshal of division.
He decided to accept to fight in Tolentino, since it was the best place to divide the two Austrian armies that were pursuing him and put as much distance between them as possible, so that they could be faced one by one, as Napoleon's tactics commanded.
On 2nd and on 3rd May 1815 the towns of Tolentino, Monte Milone (currently Pollenza) and Macerata saw the fight of the two armies, which ended because of the retreat of the Neapolitan troops.

Subject: One review Tolentino 1815 (Alea iacta est 3) The third offer from Alea iacta est it's probably the better game of the three peculiar choices designed by Esperia.
This neat simulation of the battle of Tolentino (Murat against the Austrians in the later phases of the Napoleonic adventure) has a lot of potential and a strange, fascinating system to add to his starting very good impression, due to very good graphics (usual for this Italian magazine).
I rated this game 6 1/2 in a 1-10 scale.
