Uclés is a small village but it boasts great historical importance, having taken part in some relevant events in history.
The most outstanding feature in Uclés is the Convent founded by La Orden de Santiago (Order of Saint James), the monastery.
Towards the West we can see “La defensa”, site where the battle of Uclés took place in 1108 when the Almohades defeated the troops led by the Christian king Alfonso VI and the lost of Sancho, his heir.
