The barrel is shorter than on the rifle, but the addition of a silencer/ flash supressor brings the total barrel length to slightly more than the rifle variant.
It is more powerful than the rifle set on full power and can easily destroy a un-/lightly-armored vehicle with one direct hit, whereas a rifle on full would most likely require several direct hits.
