BATTLEFORDS PROVINCIAL PARK - It's called the Coteau Missouri, and it's an uplands region of the plains that serves as the gently rolling backdrop to this large green playground nestled on the shores of Jackfish Lake.
While the setting of Battlefords Provincial Park is without a doubt a pretty one, the park is not really a place designed for people to enjoy nature on her own terms.

Located near the confluence of the Battle and North Saskatchewan rivers, the area that's now the Battlefords was a meeting place for aboriginal peoples long before history was recorded.
The Battleford location of The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, which houses more than 3,000 artifacts in the former Gardiner Presbyterian Church (built in 1886) on 20th Street, is appropriate given the first baseball game recorded in the North West Territories occurred here in 1879.
The Battlefords was the centre of government for the North West Territories from 1876 to 1883, when Regina was crowned the capital.

Always conscious of her community obligations, Pearl was involved on the Board of the Breton Alcohol Addiction Centre for 14 years, was a Board Member of the Battlefords Interval House for Abused Women and she still serves as a provincial representative for the Interval House on Paths.
