He added that the druids suspected the swords that Badumchish had originally looted from that first battle were from another plane, which was surely what had made them of such interest to Jonn the flsmith.
When Weebellina had returned to the table and been filled in, her opinion was that nothing should be done with this map or gate until Miranda, the druid, was feeling better.

Anne Applebaum -- Serendipity Rules Okay
That being the case, one might also say that reviews of Companions to English Literature belong to a genre all of their own as well.
The idea is to read the new guide, edited by distinguished author X, and compare it to previous guides, written by distinguished authors Y and Z, either howling at the new elements of political correctness -- the entries on 'Gay and Lesbian Literature,' say, or 'Hypertext' -- or, alternatively, heaping praise upon them.
Handed the new edition of The Oxford Companion to English Literature, edited by Margaret Drabble, I dutifully flipped to read all of the new entries: not only Gay and Lesbian Literature and Hypertext, but also New Irish Playwrights, Lads' Literature, Kate Atkinson, Carol Shields, Louis de Bernières.

At the time of Longtime Companion's release in 1990, the devastating disease of AIDS was seen as a mysterious and deadly scourge, replete with rumors, lies, and panic.
As the first narrative film to examine the AIDS epidemic, screenwriter Craig Lucas and director Norman René place the disease in an historical context, dramatizing the impact of the disease through time in a series of vignettes involving seven gay men.
In its detailed examination of everyday reality, this film put a human face on a blight that, in 1990, most people feared, and in its characters battling the disease gave audiences something to root for.

MIT scientists have found a pulsar in a binary star system that has all but completely whittled away its companion star, leaving this companion only about 10 times more massive than Jupiter.
The system has one of the lowest-mass companions of any stellar binary.
The finding provides clear evidence that neutron stars can slowly steal material from their companions and dramatically increase their spin rate, ultimately evolving into the isolated, radio wave-emitting pulsars spinning a thousand times per second -- the type commonly seen scattered throughout the Milky Way galaxy.
