		Indeed, the names adopted for several of the nearby streets underscore the fact that not all that long ago, this part of suburban Toronto, dubbed "Bayview Heights" by land developers and "Millionaires' Row" by the press, was the preserve of those seeking the quiet serenity afforded by country living.
		This early course was located east of the First Concession Road East of Yonge (the present Bayview Avenue) between Lawrence Avenue and what was called either Mercer Road (after a pioneer settler) or the York Mills Sideroad.

		Riverdale Avenue between Carlaw and Pape can then be narrowed as should Carlaw Avenue just north of the Pape extension along with Pape Avenue south of Queen Street East, as none are now required for semi-arterial road purposes.
		In response, Coxwell Avenue should be extended down into the valley in a manner similar to Don Mills Road, via Coxwell Boulevard and vacant parkland, to link with Don Mills Road directly in the vicinity of the Don River confluence.

	LESLIE STREET EXTENSION
		With the connection of St. Clair Avenue East to O’Connor Drive via a new St. Clair viaduct over the Don valley, the entire Leslie Street Extension, originally planned to connect into the Bayview Avenue Extension just north of Pottery Road, appears not to be necessary.
		The Leslie Street extension as once proposed by the City could be used as part of the solution to the St. Clair Avenue missing link, by allowing traffic to utilize (east to west) Donlands, Millwood and Leslie Street to cross the valley and reach the Bayview Avenue extension.
