Bcl 2 -- Facts, Info, and Encyclopedia article
The titular protein of the family was first discovered as a reciprocal gene translocation in (A threadlike body in the cell nucleus that carries the genes in a linear order) chromosomes 14 and 18 in follicar (A neoplasm of lymph tissue that is usually malignant; one of the four major types of cancer) lymphomas.
The protein also conforms to the general structure of Bcl-2 proteins, with a transmembrane domain in its C-terminus.
