The BeBox Forums have a number of BeBox hardware related forums, containing questions, answers and discussions about compatible hardware, hardware problems and related issues.
SheepShaver for BeOS PPC (and soon for LinuxPPC) allows the MacOS to be run natively on under BeOS PPC (on a BeBox for example).
For those interested in a Linux port to the BeBox, there is also a Be-Linux mailing list, which I have been subscribed to for the past year or so.

Of particular note were the CPU load meters on the front of the unit, and the GeekPort in back, which allowed for experimentation.
The BeBox made its debut in October 1995 (BeBox Dual603-66).
The processors were upgraded to 133MHz in August 1996 (BeBox Dual603e-133).

BeBox storage is centered around the SCSI-2 interface because it delivers great overall system performance, having the harddrive more or less directly connected to the system bus, and because it is more expandible than IDE.

You'll find details of all the BeBox models developed by Be Incorporated, from the standard dual processor PowerPC BeBox to the lesser known single and dual processor ATandT Hobbit based BeBox prototypes, and the quad processor PowerPC BeBox that was designed and tested, but never made it to production.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the BeBox, Joseph Palmer, has put together a photo gallery that includes photos from the BeBox Launch at Agenda '95, photos of the first run of BeBoxen which were assembled in the Be offices in Menlo Park, and a bunch of pictures from Macworld Japan, 1997.

Eight months after its delivery into the PC arena, the BeBox is back in the news with an initiative to keep the development platform modern by integrating Internet features into the Be Operating System, including support for Java.
BeBox is a PowerPC-based multiprocessor computer aimed at high-end application developers that features its own operating system, the Be OS.
The existing BeBox with two 66-MHz processors will still be available priced at $2,195 for a fully configured version or $1,195 for a customized version.

The BeBox was designed in 1995 and 1996 as a development platform for Jean-Louis Gassée's BeOS.
Initial press reports treated Be as a whole computer company, with the manufacturing of the BeBox and BeOS, and reported Jean-Louis as having repeated Steve Jobs 'mistake' of founding NeXT.

With this kind of power the BeBox could be the the computer of choice for the bleeding edge garage multimedia Digital Cinema developer of the 90's.

Most BeOS users know about the long defunct BeBox, that almost gaudy machine with double PowerPC 603 processors, a Geekport (what it really was), and 4 serial ports.
Development for such a system would be next to nothing, except for my first example system, and even that would still use mostly standard PC hardware, therefore making the BeBox relatively inexpensive for a high powered workstation (in the $1600 range).
Be would not have to offer their own monitor or printer to go with this unit, but maybe hint at some good options by offering them for sale along with the new BeBox on the Be Store.

When you start the BeBox up, you end up in a Finder-like (Program Manager-like, for you PC weenies) environment, with a NeXT-style "dock" on the left edge of the screen.
The BeBox and BeOS were designed to be a system for the 90's, quite unlike it's more popular brethren that are burdened with layers of backward compatibility.
Double-clicking on the BeBox icon in the dock on the left, I'm greeted with the drives that are mounted on the system.
