Beacon Hill was a part of Gloucester until it was amalgamated with the new city of Ottawa.
Beacon Hill is a primarily residential area, but includes the Robert O. Pickard water treatment plant, the National Research Council of Canada campus, and one major Ottawa high school, Colonel By.
The 'Hill' the name refers to is called 'Ski Hill' and is located behind the neighbourhood's Shoppers Drug Mart on La Verendrye Dr. 'Ski Hill' is generally referred to as 'Zeller's Hill' by residents who lived in the community prior the 1990s when a Zeller's department store occupied the Beacon Hill Mall.

Gloucester has lost $1.3 million in state education aid since fiscal 2003, plus $496,857 in local aid since fiscal 2002, according to the Massachusetts Municipal Association.

May Hill is a little to the north of the Forest of Dean, its best view is to the west, looking towards the towns of Ross-on-Wye and Hereford and in the distance, the Black Mountains of Wales.
The Beacon is an Iron-age Hill Fort with earth ramparts, with a flat area inside the very top where I assume the village was but now a golf course.
To the left of the hill is Quedgeley and Hardwicke and to the right, Matson, and the artifical ski slope that runs down one of the lower slopes of the hill.

Painswick Beacon is situated to the south east of Gloucester and contains one of the foremost archaeological sites in the county.
This is the nationally important hill fort known as Kimsbury Camp, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM).
The erosion levels at the hill fort have been the subject of serious concern since 1987, and were documented in a survey carried out in 1995 by Gloucestershire County Council Archaeology Service.

Gloucester (pronounced "Gloster") was named after Prince William Frederick, Duke of Gloucester (1776-1834), a nephew of King George III and husband of George III's daughter Princess Mary.
To the east of Vanier is Gloucester, a very bilingual community with about 100,000 residents, a third of which are in the 22 to 44 year old young adult demographic.

The water flow from the dam was not enough to power the mills and the stagnant pool of water that was created had such a foul stench that residents on the other side of Beacon Hill could smell it.
This created foul stenches along the river and the manure was probably dumped into the river at times, as evidenced by the fact that the river was still being used as a way to remove trash from cities and was not seen as a mark of beauty or something that should be preserved.
The houses lining the south side of Beacon Street (houses which were not along the river), all seem to be relatively uniform.

Despite their relatively moderate height (1,000ft/300m-1,400ft/427m) the Malvern Hills offer marvelous views.
Their highest point is Worcester Beacon (1.395ft/425m), from which there is an extensive view across the plain and on to Worcester Cathedral, Gloucester and Hereford.
