Sittingbourne looked to be comfortable in the lead but on 28 minutes Beaconsfield equalised out of the blue when Dan Whatford was given acres of space in the Brickies area and he gratefully crashed the ball past Kevin Fewell.
Beaconsfield took an unexpected lead on 33 minutes when a poor clearance from Fewell was punted back into the Brickies area to Allan Arthur who had plenty of time to fire into the net.
Beaconsfield had another effort when a rasping shot by Kevin Cotton just missed the Brickies far post and on 37 minutes the home side had a good penalty shout turned down when Dowley seemed to handle the ball in the same fashion as the Beaconsfield defender did when the Brickies were awarded their penalty.

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB Football Club's hopes of playing in a higher league are set to rest on whether the Department of the Environment allows them to keep a controversial stand put up without planning permission.
Now officials at the club have heard that the DOE inspector will be looking at the stand on Tuesday, as part of the appeal hearing, which is being dealt with by written submissions from both sides.
SYCOB's press officer Paul Hughes said the indications were that the club would know the fate of its stand by the middle of May. The club has been told by the Ryman League that recent upgrading work done is up to scratch, but all now rests on the appeal hearing and the club's on-field performance.

A record number of people enjoyed a visit to the 12th annual Beaconsfield Awareness Day held on 12th June on the Town/Council Green.
The weather was kind to the record attendance of 52 local organisations on display, covering interests for birth, with the NCT, thru playgroups, youth activities with scout/guides, youth club or sports, to activities and interests for adults, third agers and senior citizens.
A big “thank you” to all the groups taking part and for all the time of which they so generously give throughout the year to make Beaconsfield such an attractive desirable place in which to live.
