 Beadwrangler's Thread Guide
I use sharps needles (shorter) for beading complex forms such as peyote and square stitch which require short stitches and beading needles (longer) for bead weaving on a loom, dangles, bead loops and necklace strands.
I use twisted/flex wire needles to pre-string beads for crocheting/knitting and loom weaving and the needle eye collapses when it goes through the bead and then reshapes itself after it is out of the bead.
Purses were often made of various size beads in a color because when crocheting and knitting, the difference in size is negligible, where as in beading, it often visually sticks out like a sore thumb.

 bead instructions,free bead patterns
The basic principle of a bead loom is to string threads onto your loom in order to create a bead design.
To string a loom, attach your thread at one end, run the thread to the other side wrap it around one of the small nails then go back across to the other side and wrap it around a nail.
The space between the threads is where your beads are "parked." will be where each of the beads"park".

I keep the beads I'm working with in four shallow porcelain dishes, eight to ten colors in each one, each one different enough from the others for me to pick up the right bead, a faster way of working than moving my hand from place to place among thirty or more separate tiny containers.
The bead map I've prepared is mounted with magnets on a piece of metal about 8 X 10 and I use a smaller magnet to keep my place on the chart as I pick up one bead for each square.
First the thread strung with the beads is placed beneath the warp threads, each bead between a pair of warp threads.
