| | BetaNews | BearShare Settles with RIAA for $30m |
 | | May 5, 2006, 2:46 PM Free Peers, the company that owned and operated the BearShare network, has agreed to pay $30 million to the Recording Industry Association of America to avoid a copyright infringement lawsuit, court documents indicated Thursday. |
 | | BTW, I do think BearShare is guilty of making money from copyrighted material, so I am against them in this case (I go along with the Supreme Court ruling completely). |
 | | Bearshare is a company like anyone else, they are charging you, NOT for the music, but for the ability (which is not a right) to share on THEIR network. |
