ROME (AP) — The case to beatify Pope John Paul II is moving along well, with documentation about his life completed in Poland and almost finished in Rome, the late pontiff's personal secretary said in an interview broadcast on Sunday.
"I am happy because the cause (for beatification) is proceeding well," Krakow Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, who was John Paul's personal aide for decades, told Italian state radio.
Beatification is the last formal step in the process before possible sainthood.
