 Lemony Snicket - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lemony Snicket is a fictional character, the fictional author and narrator of the A Series of Unfortunate Events books, actually written by Daniel Handler.
This was a holiday story entitled "The Lump of Coal," and included two full-color illustrations by Brett Helquist (who has also illustrated all of the books in the Series of Unfortunate Events to date).
Both Beatrice and Snicket served at one time as members of V.F.D. Since her untimely death in unknown (to the reader) circumstances, he dedicates all the books to her with statements such as "When we were together, I felt breathless.

Beatrice is the woman Lemony Snicket dedicates all of his books to (if you thought she was real, she's not, but she might be based on a real person).
Kathryn said that Beatrice is not the Baudelaire's mother because in TGG, Lemony Snicket mentioned "the Baudelaire parents" and "the woman I happened to love," but Natalie and I think Beatrice is the Baudelaire's mother.
Beatrice isn't Lemony Snicket's wife; they were engaged, but then Beatrice read something in The Daily Punctillio and married someone else instead (I think it's Bertrand Baudelaire, but that's only my theory).

Series of Unfortunate Events is my 2nd Favorite book series (behind Harry Potter of course).
Oh i love Series of Unfortunate Events....Does anyone know when the next book is coming out...I've been dying to read it!!!
I think the good bits are when Lemony Snicket talks about himself and Beatrice and Jacques and Kit and the Duchess and all of VFD, and they can't have that in the film.

Mia is very sincere and funny and has a heart of gold, althopugh it is INCREDIBLY annoying how she keeps selling her self-short throught-out the diary-format books, and then in the end realizing she was wrong and acting like she never had doubted herself.
The main clues to this series of unfortunate event would be in the autobiography,the slippery slope,the carnivorous carnival,the hostile hospital, and the vile village.AS someone pointed out earlier the bindings also give out clues.

I think my favorite book that's technically in the series is Carnivorous Carnival.
Over a year late, but I'll throw in my 2 cents- my roommate has it, it's fun to play with other people who have read the books, and the cards are all really funny.

It is sort of an anti-fairy tale, because as the backs of the books and all their introductions warn, there are no happy endings.
This series definitely chronicles horrid events, but it is not scary in the least because it is so unrealistic in many respects.
Snicket portrays the events of the Baudelaire orphans' lives as real events that he is personally researching and cataloging, seemingly very reluctantly at that.
