Keith Beauchamp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Beauchamp's research eventually led him to create the documentary film The Untold Story of Emmett Till [1], and the reopening of the case by the United States Department of Justice in May 2004.
Beauchamp was also able to find living witnesses who were willing to testify, but it was some years before they trusted him enough to speak on camera.
Beauchamp is involved in other film work but credits the Untold Story with occupying and shaping his life in a major way, and his relationship with Mamie Till, Emmett mother's, with inspiring him to create the film.

20th WCP: Balancing Principles in Beauchamp and Childress
As they characterize it, their theory is a "principle-based, common morality theory." (Beauchamp and Childress, 120 ff.) Starting with the common morality shared by members of society, the "theory constructs principles and rules from considered judgments," seeking coherence through a process of reflective equilibrium.
Beauchamp and Childress answer in one sentence: "In light of the possible consequences, the disclosure was justified despite the fact that the patient did not want the information." (Beauchamp and Childress, 403) No further reasons are offered to justify this claim.
Beauchamp and Childress might well answer that the rationality of particular balancing judgments will be warranted by their place within an adequately specified set of coherent principles and considered judgments.
