Beaver Township is a civil township of Bay County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
The township's population was 2,806 as of the 2000 census and is included in the Bay City Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Beaver is a small unincorporated community in the northeast portion of the township, on the north branch Kawkawlin River at the corners of Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14.

The State of Michigan is bounded on the north by Lake Superior, on the east by Canada, Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair, on the south by Ohio and Indiana, and on the west by Lake Michigan and the State of Wisconsin.
Michigan adopted a constitution and took all necessary steps for admission into the Union, but was prevented from doing so by reason of the Ohio dispute, which was settled by the boundary line being determined in favour of Ohio, and by Michigan obtaining instead the Upper Peninsula.
Michigan was under the control of the See of Quebec until the formation of the Diocese of Baltimore (1789), under which it remained until it was included in the Diocese of Bardstown (1808), and later, when the new Diocese of Cincinnati was created, Michigan was made a part of its territory.

 History of Emmet County, Michigan
Section 28 of that Act described the boundaries of Emmet County as that portion of the State lying north of the line between towns 36 and 37 north, and west of the line between ranges 4 and 5 west.
The Emmet County Board of Supervisors promptly informed the state officials that they had already established the county seat at Little Traverse and in 1861 the Act was declared unconstitutional and repealed.
It was organized in 1853 and included the present nine townships in the southern half of the county.

In 1857, Bay County was organized from portions of Saginaw and Midland counties, and all of Arenac.

Twenty-seven residents of Arranmore along with fifty Chicago transplants and relatives arrived on Beaver Island after a very "brisk" trip on the motorship "Emerald Isle"; oops, I should say that fifty of them missed the boat (luckily) and had to be flown over because their bus was late.
The St. James Township board took action Wednesday evening prior to this event and made the park "official." My father who ran that power plant for 45 years couldn't have been prouder and I wish he had been here to witness the whole thing.
Members of the youngest of the Islands did the honors, Kaitlyn Boyle (daughter of Neal and Connie) and Bailey McDonough representing Beaver Island and a charming young lass representing Arranmore.
