“Media Multi-tasking” Changing the Amount and Nature of Young People’s Media Use - Kaiser Family ...
The study, Generation M: Media in the Lives of 8-18 Year-olds, examined media use among a nationally representative sample of more than 2,000 3rd through 12th graders who completed detailed questionnaires, including nearly 700 self-selected participants who also maintained seven-day media diaries.
Anywhere from a quarter to a third of kids say they are using another media “most of the time” while watching TV (24%), reading (28%), listening to music (33%) or using a computer (33%).
Outside of their bedrooms, in many young people’s homes the TV is a constant companion: nearly two-thirds (63%) say the TV is “usually” on during meals, and half (51%) say they live in homes where the TV is left on “most” or “all” of the time, whether anyone is watching it or not.

This is also for the good authors who have taken up media bias at book length, and everyone who likes to argue about those books—some quite good, some terrible—and everyone who likes to shout at bias before blatant instances of bias just seen on television.
This here is a post for practically everyone in the game of seizing on media bias and denouncing it, which is part of our popular culture, and of course a loud part of our politics.
Chances are you won’t tell me what kind of media bias is good for journalists to show— even though there’s nothing to stop you from speculating about it.

Politicians have been using the media as scapegoats for decades, but in this year's presidential race, the candidates hardly needed to lead the attacks: Media issues and missteps often have managed to overshadow the campaigns.
And viewers, increasingly skeptical of the media, according to polls, are drawn to stories of news outlets or personalities tripping up.
They know that media coverage can shape that, and they want to make sure their side wins, so they beat up anybody they perceive to be leaning the wrong way — even if there is no lean."

To the extent I complain about media bias, it's focused mainly on the fact that the news media has a double, or even a triple standard depending on who they are covering.
ANY kind of bias in the news media must be examined, be it structural biases or the occasional instances in which political bias does affect coverage.

The problem with calling something "new media" is that at some point, it's no longer that new, anymore.

The "new media" parts of any organization are usually just seen as another channel and not as the grand savior of the entire company, allowing them to function at a more reasonable level.
